Meet Our Professional Staff

Arthur Nitz

Arthur J. Nitz

PT, PhD, OCS, ECS, Owner

Dr. Nitz received his master's degree in physical therapy from Baylor University and a Ph.D. in anatomy and neurobiology from the University of Kentucky. He recently retired from a full-time faculty position at the University of Kentucky after 40 years as a full professor. His clinical practice concentrates on orthopedic and sports injuries and electrophysiologic assessment. He resides in Frankfort with his wife, Jane.

Michael is a clinical director at ProActive Therapy. He is a UK graduate and has been at ProActive Therapy since 2001. Michael specializes in orthopedics and post-operative rehabilitation. He and his wife, Shonna, have three children and live in Woodford County.

David Lodmell

David Lodmell

PT, DPT, Owner

David is a graduate of Bellarmine University. He joined the ProActive Therapy staff in 2007. He specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy. David and his wife, Beth, along with their five children, live in Frankfort.

Tyler Gibbs

Tyler Gibbs

PT, DPT

Tyler received his doctorate in physical therapy from Western Kentucky University. He joined the staff of ProActive Therapy in the summer of 2019. Tyler specializes in the treatment of OA to prevent surgery as well as post-operative joint and sports injuries. Tyler resides in Frankfort with his wife, Erin, and their three children.

Dr. Smith graduated from the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at the University of Kentucky in 2021 and has been practicing at ProActive Therapy since then. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages diagnosed with an array of orthopedic conditions. She specializes in post-operative care and sports-related injuries. She is a resident of Anderson County.

Sam received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky. He joined the ProActive Therapy staff in the fall of 2023. Sam has experience working with patients with various orthopedic conditions, including working with many professional, collegiate, and tactical athletes. Sam resides in Midway with his wife and son.
